ARRANGING A FUNERAL
 
This is a Guide of  Information to Consider when Arranging a Funeral.
Your Funeral Director will guide you through Step by Step
 
BURIAL:
Service to be held at:
Church, Funeral Home Chapel or Cemetery Chapel then onto Cemetery or the service can be at one location and followed by a Private Burial (No Attendance) or the service can be held at the Graveside
 
CREMATION:
Service to be held at:
Church, Funeral Home Chapel  then onto Crematorium Chapel or the service can be at one location and followed by a Private Cremation (No Attendance) or the service can be held at the Crematorium Chapel
 
CLERGY or CELEBRANT:
If you require a non religious service you can use a Civil Celebrant or even a Family Member to officiate the Funeral Service
 
VIEWING:
You may feel a Viewing is necessary for some Family Members to say their Good Bye’s.
This can take place in the Funeral Home Chapel, Crematorium Chapel or some Churches, either the night before the Funeral Service or on the day of the Funeral Service at the location
 
FLORAL TRIBUTE:
You may have a particular type of flower preference or provide cut flowers from your garden for the Coffin
 
PRESS NOTICES: – Herald Sun, The Age or Other.
Death Notices may be put in the newspaper by Family and if required the Funeral Director will place a Funeral Notice to advise when and where the Service is to be held
 
REFRESHMENTS:
The Cemeteries with Chapels, Funeral Homes and many RSL’s local to some Cemeteries
 have refreshment areas available for the Mourners to gather after the Service
 
MUSIC:
Any music may be played at Chapels and some Churches have facilities also. The Funeral Director will check with your Church. Other options are Organists, Singers or Musicians eg Bagpipes etc
 
RSL, Clubs etc:
If the Service is for a Returned Soldier or Mason etc, a representative man take a part in the service
 
SPEAKERS:
Where possible encourage a Family Member or Close Friend to join the service by way of a Eulogy or to write some memories for the Celebrant or Clergy to read out
 
OTHER SPECIAL REQUESTS:
You may have something special in mind or one of the following;
Memorial Cards, A Photo to be placed on the Coffin, Balloons to be released etc
